Omara's plantO’Mara Incorporated was founded in 1970 by Joseph O’Mara, Jr. as a converting business for fiber sales. By combining his educational experiences at the Philadelphia College of Textiles and Sciences with his many years working for a leading textile company, Mr. O’Mara began providing converting services to the textile industry with a personal commitment to service and quality not found in the corporate giants that dominated the industry.

O’Mara Incorporated today employs over two hundred employees in two states. The company has grown to become a vertical supplier of textured polyester and nylon in solution dyed colors and naturals.

O’Mara currently has three manufacturing plants: Filtex, located in Guntersville, Alabama, extrudes polyester, nylon and other specialty fibers into POY. Filtex/North, located adjacent to the texturing plant, is the company’s newest state of the art extrusion plant Omara incbuilt in 2002 to further support both internal and external needs. OMTEX, located in Rutherford College, NC is the company’s texturing plant, processing POY extruded by Filtex/Filtex North.

Today, O’Mara services many different markets including automotive fabrics, industrial, narrow elastics-waist bands, denim, sheer hosiery, socks, apparel, and contract upholstery. O’Mara provides quality solution dyed yarns throughout the world.
